This mood board is a personal one — it will be the design for my new bedroom.

We’re currently building the home of our dreams. At the very beginning of the process, we hired a really talented designer to help us choose all the finishes. As much as I would have loved to design the entire house myself, I knew what a major undertaking it would be. Designing a home from the ground up is truly a full-time job — and with a family of my own and another job, it was the smarter (and far less stressful) decision to bring in a professional.

Our designer has been incredible, and while she’s been helping with all the architectural details and finishes, I’ve decided to take on the furnishings and textiles myself. That’s the fun part for me — and I enjoy every second of it!

This bedroom is the first space I’m envisioning. We’ll be keeping our existing bed, but everything else will be new. This mood board captures the exact feeling I want the room to have: warm, layered, timeless, and restful.

Designed with cozy mocha tones, rich textures, and classic silhouettes, the room strikes a balance between elevated and inviting. The dark nightstands anchor the space, while the soft ottomans, vintage rug, and layered pillows add charm and softness.

Framed by tailored drapery and finished with touches like a faux olive tree, wall sconces, and a minimalist chandelier — this design feels like a perfect reflection of what Mood and Maison is all about.
